Tonya Lundahl, LCSW

Tonya’s approach to therapy is one of honesty and unconditional positive regard, meaning she will support and empower you in building confidence to make life decisions that serve you in living your best life.  Exploring our emotions and behaviors must be done in a safe space; Tonya will genuinely hold space for you to do this using evidence-based concepts and modalities to guide the conversation. A leading expert in trauma, Bessel A. van der Kolk says in his book The Body Keeps the Score; Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma: “Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience and learning to befriend what is going inside ourselves.”  Tonya can help you to find this awareness gently and at your own pace in a safe and non-judgmental space.

Tonya brings an expansive background in social work having worked in state government, residential treatment, community-based placement, hospitals, and more during her career. Her life experience and education prime her to be skilled in helping adults manage life transitions, depression and anxiety, difficult relationships, women’s issues, parenting struggles, and concerns with problematic substance use.

Tonya practices out of our SLC Location, she is bilingual-Spanish and English.
